At least nine people were shot at a recreation area in Rochester Hills, Michigan on Saturday evening, June 15, 2024. A suspect is contained near the crime scene, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. The shooting occurred around 5:11 pm at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad, a popular family attraction. Victims include two young boys and seven adults.

Sheriff Bouchard and Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett briefed the media shortly after the incident. They confirmed that all victims were transported to local hospitals, with one being in critical condition. The suspect, a male in his 30s, was apprehended by police officers responding to the scene. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
